We got it in on Thursday!!!

At the Hampton Art Lovers + 100 Black Men + Howard University National Alumni Association + Economic Equity Trust Reception

Shutting it down in Overtown which was once called or referred to as Colored Town. Like Black Bottom in Detroit and so many other areas where We, Black folks thrived, and were displaced.
Overtown is a historic neighborhood in Miami named by residents who affectionately referenced
“going over town” en route to visit the community. It was once known as an entertainment and
business mecca where prominent African Americans lived and worked. After the construction of
I95, it became one of the poorest neighborhoods in the country.

We got our drank and party on. I don’t like whiskey however I am buying a bottle of DUKE & DAME
SALTED CARAMEL WHISKEY. I had it at the Hampton’s Art Lovers event which was at the Historic Ward Rooming House.
Built in 1925, the Ward Rooming House opened its doors to both out-of-town Blacks and Native
Americans, who were typically unable to find welcoming accommodations in Downtown Miami
during the first half of the 20th century.
